ミケランジェロ・ブオナローティ（Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni 1475年3月6日 - 1564年2月18日）イタリアルネサンス期の彫刻家、画家、建築家、詩人。名前はミカエル（Michael）と天使（angelo）を併せたもの。西洋で最も巨大な絵画の一つとも言われるバチカンのシスティーナ礼拝堂の天井フレスコ画や『最後の審判』、パオリーナ礼拝堂にある『聖ペテロの磔刑』、『パウロの改宗』を描いたことでよく知られています。もともとは彫刻家であり、『ピエタ』や『ダビデ像』等の傑作のほかにも『バッカス』、『モーセ』、『ラケル』、『レア』などが有名。バチカンの『サン・ピエトロ大聖堂』の設計者でもあります。レオナルド・ダ・ヴィンチ、ラファエロ・サンティとともにルネサンスの三大巨匠と呼ばれています。彼の躍動的な表現は、次のバロックの時代を準備したといわれます。こちらの作品はシスティーナ礼拝堂天井画で最も有名な部分のひとつ『アダムの創造』。主題は旧約聖書の創世記で、このアダムの創造はその中の一場面を描いたもの。創世記第一章では、天地万物の創造主、神が7日間で全てを創造し、その6日目に創造されたのが人間（アダム）とされています。万物の創造主、神は自身の姿形に似た人間を創造した際、五つの祝福を人間に与えたとされています。ここでは最初の人アダムに生命を吹き込み、地上の支配者という役割を与える場面が描かれ、中央の創造主とアダムの指先が触れる部分は、神の意志と生命の伝達を表すとされています。天地万物の神によって創造された最初の人アダムは、創世記ではこの後、妻のイブとともに禁断の木の実を食べて原罪を犯し、二人ともエデンの園から追放されたとされています。6300円The Creation of Adamアンティーク、コレクション印刷物The Hidden Scientific Meaning Behind Michelangelos Creation of
